Pokemon: Mienshao Sub

Recently I stated that I was going to post a series of newer Yugioh decks, in order to fit with the new banlist. Well, the same goes for Pokemon decks. Many of the decks that I have posted will have cards in them that you will not be allowed to use in standard format, so as a result I will also be posting a series of new Pokemon decks that you may wish to test on sites like http://tcgone.net/ or even the official; Pokemon Tcg online.

One of the newer decks that I was particularly interested in is Mienshao Sub.

Pokemon (12)
4-4 Mienshao
4 Hawlucha

Trainers (40)
4 Professor Sycamore
2 Tierno
4 Korinna
2 Lysandre
4 Vs Seeker
4 Level Ball
1 Professor's Letter
1 Sacred Ash
4 Eco Arm
4 Robo Substitute
2 Muscle Band
4 Focus Sash
4 Fighting Stadium

Energy (8)
4 Strong Energy
4 Fighting Energy

This deck essentially revolves around using attackers that only require one energy to attack and denying all your opponents prize cards. Overall a very powerful strategy indeed.

If you have played in the previous format, you will notice a similarity between this deck and the Donphan deck (they both use an almost identical strategy).

Just by looking at the two cards, you can see that their first move does the same damage for the same energy, the only difference is Mienshao returns to the hand as opposed to switching with a benched Pokemon. Much like the Donphan deck from not so long ago, this deck also uses the Trainer Card "Robo Substitute", which allows you to defend yourself at the same time as denying your opponent the prizes they most desperately need to win.

You will have also noticed this deck uses Hawlucha. This is because it is an incredibly cheap attacker for going up against the prominent EX Pokemon cards. Then there is also the "Fighting Stadium" that this deck runs 4 of, which boosts any damage you do against EX cards by a further 20 points.

This deck also uses the Pokemon tool: "Focus Sash" combined with the Trainer Card "Eco Arm", in order to make it nearly impossible for your opponent to gain prizes.

So you now know what sort of power this deck is capable of (Extreme prize denial and cheap attackers), but you should also know that it is consistent as well, This deck runs 4 Korrina, 4 Level ball and 1 Professor's letter, so you have the ability to search almost any card you want.

If you like decks that can completely frustrate your opponent on a consistent basis, this is definitely something you should try.

If there is something you think I should add, please feel free to comment.
